Tottenham remain confident of signing Ryan Sessegnon from Championship side Fulham, according to Sky Sports.

The 19-year-old, who rejected a new contract with the Whites at the beginning of June, has been on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar for a while and Spurs have emerged as front runners to sign the winger, who scored two Premier League goals last season, whilst adding six assists.

Fulham have slapped a reported £40m price tag on the England Under-21 international, but the two clubs are yet to agree a fee.

Spurs have openly identified Sessegnon, who can also play left-back, as one of their top targets this summer, especially with Danny Rose linked with a move away from the club.

Tottenham’s other left-back, Ben Davies, committed his future to the Lilywhites by signing a new five-year contract earlier this week.

Sessegnon is currently enjoying a three week rest after participating in the European Under-21 Championships last month.
