It’s amazing what 12 months can do. This time last year, Tottenham fans were probably dreading the thought of Moussa Sissoko returning to Hotspur Way for the start of pre-season, but as he returns from his holidays in America and heads back to Enfield, they can’t get enough of the midfielder.
Sissoko, who endured an extremely tough first two seasons in North London, turned his Spurs career around last season and quickly became a favourite with the White Hart Lane faithful as he started 39 games in all competitions, his most since making the move from Newcastle United in August 2016.
His scintillating form not only saw him named in UEFA’s Team of the Season, but earned the midfield powerhouse a recall to the French national team. He started their Euro 2020 qualifying defeat to Turkey early last month.
Sissoko returned to England this evening and after announcing that he is due back at Tottenham’s training ground tomorrow, his post on Instagram [below] was met with a mass amount of comments – with the majority using the ? emoji, which stands for Greatest Of All Time.
He might not be the greatest of all time, or even Spurs’ best centre-midfielder at present after the recent signing of Tanguy Ndombele, but one thing is for certain, he is adored by Tottenham fans and they cannot wait to see him back in action.
