Bayern Munich are seriously interested in signing Tottenham star Christian Eriksen, according to reports in Germany, but the French media believes Juventus could tempt Spurs into a shock swap deal in January.
German outlet Sport 1 claims Bayern have made contact with Eriksen’s representatives in recent months and the Bundesliga champions are considering signing the Dane on a free transfer next summer.
However, French publication Le10Sport (as relayed by Sports Mole) suggests Juventus are willing to offer Adrien Rabiot in exchange for Eriksen in January.
Rabiot was heavily linked with Spurs before he left Paris Saint-Germain for Juventus on a free transfer in the summer. The Frenchman is not being used regularly by Maurizio Sarri and so could seek an exit just six months after moving to Turin.
It would make more sense for Juventus to agree pre-contract terms with Eriksen in January and officially sign him for nothing next summer. But if Rabiot is desperate to leave the Allianz Stadium, perhaps using him to jump to the front of the queue for Eriksen makes sense.
Real Madrid are still being linked with Eriksen, so they will be keeping a close eye on Juventus’ plans. For now, it’s all very speculative. But it’s certainly an intriguing prospect.
