Juan Foyth’s agent has revealed that the Tottenham defender could seek a loan move away from the north London outfit in the January window after his lack of playing time under Jose Mourinho.

The 21-year-old has made just three starts in all competitions this season – and was withdrawn at half-time in the most recent of those in the 2-2 draw against Norwich City late last month.

The other two came in the Champions League away games to Red Star Belgrade and Bayern Munich. Foyth was heavily praised by Mourinho despite a generally below-par performance from Spurs in the latter of those, but has played just 46 minutes since then.

Given the hectic festive schedule, Foyth would have expected some minutes against Championship outfit Middlesbrough in the FA Cup last weekend, but the Argentine defender was left out of the squad completely – with youngster Japhet Tanganga named on the bench ahead of him.

His agent, Claudio Curti, told news outlet Inter Dipendenza: “We are evaluating the possibility of going out in the January market. We wait for this week to find clarity with Tottenham.”

  1. I believe that Foyth has a lot of potential but duels too much on the ball and wants to play like Beckenbauer or Bobby Moore at their peak.Until he understands that,he has no chance of succeeding at Tottenham and will have to learn the hard way or leave.
