It’s been a busy day for stories regarding Tottenham’s right-back situation.

First, we relayed a Sky Sports report claiming Spurs are willing to sell Kyle Walker-Peters this summer. Then we shared details of another Sky Sports story suggesting right-back Nelson Semedo could be involved in a deal that will see Tanguy Ndomebele move to Barcelona.

And now, French outlet L’Equipe is reporting that Tottenham have made contact with Paris Saint-Germain defender Thomas Meunier over a possible summer move.

Meunier, who is also a right-back, has made 27 appearances across all competitions this season for PSG. He is out of contract in the summer, meaning he has been able to speak to foreign clubs about a pre-contract agreement since January.

L’Equipe believes Spurs have been the ‘most insistent’ club in terms of contacting Meunier’s representatives. It is thought the Belgian has already spoken to Jose Mourinho ahead of a potential switch from Paris to London.

As we’ve mentioned in previous reports today, Tottenham are likely to be desperate for a new right-back this summer. Meunier is arguably a better defender than Semedo, and so Mourinho might prefer a deal for the PSG star.

  1. Defense is most critical for Spurs NOW. Cash is also scarce so a free transfer is always going to be a desirable option for Levy….but homegrown is also key expect Tanganga/Foyth to back up Aurier when transfer window and preseason are finìshed
