Tottenham are interested in signing Brighton’s Tariq Lamptey, according to Sky Sports.

First-choice right-back Serge Aurier has already made his feelings public about wanting to return to PSG this summer, whilst Matt Doherty struggled during his first season at Spurs.

And therefore, Sky Sports believe that the north Londoners are exploring the option of bringing the former Chelsea youngster to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Lamptey came through the ranks at Stamford Bridge but made just three first-team appearances under Frank Lampard prior to his move to Brighton for £4m in January 2020.

The 20-year-old was a regular for Brighton following his move, but he properly caught the eye during the early parts of last season when grabbed assists in each of his three Premier League starts, including on the opening-day against former side Chelsea.

Lamptey’s first and only Premier League goal came against Spurs back in November, although his campaign was cut short following a hamstring injury sustained against Fulham before Christmas.

He’s contracted to Brighton until 2025 having signed fresh terms less than 12 months after his arrival, meaning Tottenham would have to pay good money to secure his services.
