Harry Winks and Dele Alli have been left out of the Tottenham squad for tonight’s Carabao Cup fourth round trip to Burnley, according to the Evening Standard.

Tottenham reporter Dan Kilpatrick confirmed that the English pair aren’t travelling up with the squad for this evening’s clash at Turf Moor despite no reported injuries.

They both started the recent Europa Conference League defeat to Vitesse, but failed to impress in Holland.

The consequences of Winks’ poor showing was to be axed from the squad that were beaten at West Ham on Sunday, whilst Dele Alli was an unused substitute at the London Stadium.

Alli hasn’t played a single minute in the Premier League since he was hauled off at half-time in last month’s north London derby, whilst Winks has made just one start against Crystal Palace and hasn’t featured in the league since that Selhurst Park showing.

The pair have essentially been demoted to simply playing in Europe and therefore won’t be involved against the Clarets.
