Tottenham are keen on signing Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen, according to the Daily Star.

The January window will give Antonio Conte the first opportunity to add to his squad, with a centre-back likely to be close to the top of the Italian’s wish list.

Joe Rodon is out of favour and could leave next month, whilst Cristian Romero is out with a hamstring problem sustained on international duty and might not return until February.

Therefore, the Daily Star are claiming that Spurs have joined Manchester United and Man City in the race to sign the Dane.

Christensen has played regularly for Chelsea this season, starting 10 of their 16 Premier League games this season, plus five in the Champions League.

However, the 25-year-old, who started the 3-0 victory against Tottenham in September, is out of contract next summer and will become a free agent at the end of the season having failed to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

Like Antonio Rudiger previously, this would be a smart signing by Spurs, but whether or not Chelsea are willing to do with business with them remains another matter.

  1. I rather Rudiger not Christenen but Spurs really still need other central defender to improve defending to stop give away goal.
