Southampton are interested in signing Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli, according to the Telegraph.

Alli’s future in North London has been in doubt for well over 12 months, with Spurs blocking a loan move to PSG last January, but perhaps the biggest indication that he’ll leave the club this month was when he was left out of the squad that lost at Chelsea on Sunday.

The 25-year-old started the opening six Premier League games under Nuno Espirito Santo but has hardly had a look in since his departure, making just two top-flight starts under Antonio Conte.

Alli did start twice in three games over the festive period, and performed well in the draw with Liverpool, but he has gone back to being nothing more than a squad player. His final outing was a disappointing against Morecambe in the FA Cup earlier this month.

Brighton are also reportedly watching the England international, while there’s also interest from Germany.

Following a difficult three seasons, we think that a loan move is exactly what Alli needs to regain his confidence and hopefully rediscover his form with a change scenery.
