On This Day In Spurs History: 7th June

1947 – Bizarrely, on this day in 1947, we played a second division match against Barnsley. Severe weather during February had played havoc with the fixture list, resulting in Spurs having to play Barnsley at White Hart Lane in a rescheduled match. This is the only league game we’ve ever played in June.

Having last played on May 17th, Tottenham drew the match 1-1, with our goal being scored by Ronnie Dix from the penalty spot.
