On This Day In Spurs History: 10th August

1991 – On this day in 1991, Spurs faced the league champions Arsenal, in the Charity Shield. Having won the FA Cup back in May after a run that included a 3-1 semi-final win over Arsenal at Wembley, Spurs could only draw 0-0 this time round. The shield was shared between the two sides.

In The Sun, Joe Jordan casts doubts over whether Peter Crouch and/or Robbie Keane will be sold.

Our suddenly talkative assistant manager tells The Mirror that he’s hopeful that Jermain Defoe will be fit for Saturday.

The Daily Mail claim that Liverpool have dropped their interest in Crouch after being quote £15m for Crouch.

They also reckon that we are negotiating an £18m move for Ashley Young with Aston Villa.
