Luka Modric reached his own personal milestone of 100 appearances for Spurs in all competitions in the FA Cup tie against Charlton on Sunday.

It was widely acknowledged that Modric’s arrival as a second half substitute turned a game that was in danger of going nowhere, but the midfielder was quick to praise the men around him as he continues to play his best football.

Speaking on the official club website Modric said: “I’m happy with how I’m playing, I think I’m playing well, but the most important thing is that the team is playing well. We are capable of producing results because we have a great team with great players and we’ve shown tremendous character in a lot of matches this season”

After his arrival in 2008, his early Spurs career was hampered by injuries and a desire by Ramos to play him out of position. Modric has thankfully flourished under Redknapp and his performances this season, particularly in the Champions League, show just what a fantastic talent we have.

  1. what a player. Honestly my favourite player at the moment. Would be one of the best in the world if he could score a few more goals. Come on Luka win us something this year.

  2. we need a good song for him, people sing super pav because its easy to do, but modric is the player who deserves to have him name sung all the time…
