Spurs have confirmed that they will be without Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and Rafael van der Vaart for Saturday’s tough trip to Sunderland.
The three are still doubts for the Milan game and Harry Redknapp is quoted as saying: “They’re all struggling at the moment. Luka’s had his appendix operation and has just started jogging so he’s not fit for tomorrow.
“Rafa’s got a calf strain and is not fit for tomorrow, and Gareth is coming back slowly from his back injury and is unavailable as well.
“Hopefully they won’t be too long. It’s difficult to know [whether they will be fit for Milan] but Sunderland’s a key game for us and I’m only worrying about that.”
Steven Pienaar, who was expected to be out for a while with a head injury could slot straight back into the starting XI and Johnathan Woodgate is included in the squad once more, but Peter Crouch is a doubt with a back injury. Hutton had a minor knock and Corluka stepped in. He’s played very well the last two outings. Corluka seems to be better defensively and has really sent in a few good crosses lately too…
I also think he tends to interact better with Lennon on that side as well…And of course keep in mind the above is only speculation…

I wouldnt have Defoe start hes been awful lately and we need 5 in midfield to counter there Sessengon, Muntari and Henderson central pairing who are all energetic talented playrs
I would go with Jay’s selection – it would be interesting to have Kranjcar play just behind Pav. Palacios looks like he could concede a penalty any time, esp. away. And keep Defoe away from the team – he IS useless.
Your right about there energetic but Sulli Misfiring was rubbish against us and this was why he got ditched by Inter Milan. But in the faster Premiership i expect like just like old man Zenden he will go faster. The one thing Bruce can do is make players run a lot and make them worth a lot more Money we should no Palacios cost 12 million and cost Bruce 1 million.. Just look at the Chelsea away game they ran and ran and ranand blew Chelsea away . Then they got hammered at Home he dismissed this by saying they played great what he meant was they upped there tempo and matched there work rate and the better team won. This is what we will need to do match there enhanced work rate because they have lost two games and the desperate Tempo will be dished out for certain. My Team would be.
