The battle to get Gareth Bale fit for next week’s visit of AC Milan seems to be touch and go at best, as he looks certain to miss Sunday’s clash at Molineux.

Some sources appear to be ruling him out of the Champions League tie already, as he struggles to regain fitness following back problems and his inability to return to full training means that Harry Redknapp is unlikely to test him at Wolves this weekend.

However, as with Luka Modric in the first leg, nobody would rule out seeing Bale start on the bench with a view to coming on only if he is needed and if Spurs play as they did in the San Siro then there’s no reason why he should be.

  1. I’d write him off. Get him back 100% fit. Don’t risk it. All it needs is a blow to his back or an awkward challenge/fail and it will put him off. Especially at the speed he runs at. Also given the way that Crouch was targetted (to no effect), it would not surprise me if the Milan players would target Bale’s back to render him impotent. We need Bale for the run in. It can wait 2 more weeks or so. We have many people to cover.

  2. Better he is introduced in the second half than having to be pulled off in the first. Mind you boys I could pull him off like you would not imagine, whaddya think HHXX
