The fixture calendar may have been kind to us for once, as our scheduled match against Manchester City on 17th April has been postponed due to City’s continued involvement in the FA Cup. City will now play Manchester United on Saturday the 16th.

As the original fixture was due to be followed three days later by our home game against Arsenal, this may prove to be a welcome development for the club. The Arsenal game itself was re-arranged after their involvement in the Carling Cup Final, which of course ended in an amusing defeat. Wenger’s team have to play Liverpool on the weekend before the North London derby, where they will meet a well-rested Spurs side.

April was proving to be a hectic month for Tottenham, but of course the City fixture will have to go somewhere, and when it will be scheduled could depend on whether we progress to the Champions League semi-final and their potential involvement in the Europa League.

If it’s late in the season, then we could have another situation in which we travel to Eastlands for a virtual Champions League play-off.

  1. I’m sure the FA will again bide their time in announcing the re-arranged fixture, and will be praying it stays tight at the top so they can engineer another Top 4 Final!

  3. when Man U fans were singing “one more year” on Saturday I honestly thought they were taunting the goons but turns out it was directed at van der Saar. Gotta laugh.

  4. Definitely agree that the FA will engineer another Champions League play-off game, great news though if it means we won’t play the weekend before Arsenal.

  5. Any rearranged game will happen on the 10th or 11th May if both teams progress to CL and EL semi-finals as it will have to be played before the final game of the season on the 22nd May
