The same old players are being linked with a summer move to White Hart Lane, but while the likes of Rossi, Forlan and Huntelaar get a regular mention, some interesting new names are attracting some stories.

Both Everton and Tottenham are believed to be watching Gervinho, Lille’s Ivory Coast international. Gervinho is 24 later this month and has been at Lille for two seasons, having started his career in Belgium with Beveren. He has nineteen caps for his country.

Gervinho is an interesting character – having started his career as a striker, he seems to be scoring more goals since Lille put him on the wing. This season he seems to have fallen out of favour, although he is still scoring after coming off the bench.

Harry Redknapp may like the player’s versatility and could convert him back to his striking role while keeping the option to play him on the wing. Frustrated with his lack of opportunity in France, the player himself is rumoured to be looking for an English club.

  1. I really like this kid. Lille has had a tremendous season (they are close to wrapping up the league title) and I have seen Gervinho play a few games. He has pace, creativity and I would love to see him have a chance at striker. Would he be the only answer? No, I don’t think so. Bring him in for 7-10 million and pair him with another acquisition (Forlan, Huntelaar or Hulk would be ideal) and I think we might have solved our issues at striker.

  2. Huntleaar new number 9 and Aguero new number 10 please! Huntleaar has already worked with van der Vaart in the national team and Ajax where Piennar also used to play and thats the whole point of us buying strikers- so they can complement our wonderful midfield! Aguero needs no explanation! Eden Hazard and Marteen Steklenburg to finish off our spending then Premier League here we come!COYS!

  3. we have to be realistic;the likes of aguero will not be signing for us. Huntelar lokks like anothe Pav(who really hasn’t been given a real chance) and isn’t good enough. We should look for some winning experiance, Klose as an example hes free and done the lot. If we were to take someone from another league, then go all out for Falcao. GK a must, and Given if we could get him would be perfic! while I’m on a role Samba as first choice CB. Van bommel/Seedorf to add leadership
