It seems that Spurs are being linked with just about every teenager in world football at the moment and this morning sees two more stories concerning some promising young talent.

The first of these involves Tasos Kantoutsis a 17 year old Greek defender who is with Atromitos at present. Harry Redknapp looks to be impressed with is mobility and power in the air and may be happy to offer the youngster a trial at the Lane.

Meanwhile, another link involves FC Basel midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri. Prior to the European under 21 championships it was though that the Swiss side were prepared to let him go for as little as £5m but after impressing at that particular tournament, the fee seems set to increase.

Shaqiri also has 11 caps for the full Swiss side so he could at least be ready to make Spurs’ first team squad. Overall however, the newspapers seem to be obsessed with linking teenagers to the club and this could be another case of rumour outweighing substance.

  1. Shaquiri would be a fantastic signing. The kid can flat-out play, has tons of speed and energy and he seems to be durable. Not sure he’ll be ready right away but I don’t see him to be too intimidated. If we can get 30MM + for Modric, let him go. He’s great and all but that would be full value for him.
