Largely thanks to injuries and the issue of Luka Modric’s head, fellow Croatian Niko Kranjcar has played a full part in Spurs’ early season campaign.

While many thought his time at White Hart Lane was up, there was a distinct lack of rumours linking Niko with a move this summer and after the transfer window passed, the player is looking forward to being more involved this season.

“It’s great to have the opportunity to play and hopefully play more often,” he said.

“Of course it was a difficult time for me last season. I enjoy being here at Spurs, I always think about the club first but I love playing football and it’s tough when you are not doing that.”

Kranjcar said that he always gave everything last season despite his frustration at not having a greater involvement,

“I didn’t get my chances last season but every time I was selected I gave it my best because that is the way I was brought up,” he added.

“Now I’m trying to do the same this season. I’m delighted to feature in our first couple of matches and I’m hoping I can get more games.”

If and when we get a fully fit midfield to choose from it will be interesting to see where Niko features but for now at least, he is likely to have a pivotal role in the games coming up.

  1. Well “Seepy” I admire your selection but I think you need to go back to the drawing board as Gallas, Sandro, Lennon and VDV are all out injured.

  2. Niko deffo deserves more time but I think the best line up to play Wolves would have to exclude him on this occasion
    Friedel
    Walker – Kaboul – Dawson – BAE
    Modric – Hudd – Parker – Bale
    Defoe – Adebayor

I would use Gallas if he is fit ahead of Kaboul or maybe move Kab to RB and leave Walker for 2nd half
