Wigan have their own injury problems ahead of tomorrow’s game with Spurs at the JB stadium as Hugo Rodallega faces a long spell on the sidelines. The Colombian was stretchered off in last week’s match with Everton and although the injury is not as bad as first thought, manager Roberto Martinez will be without his services for some time.

“It is impossible to predict how quickly he will return because we rely on his knee and how quickly he can settle and go back to work.

“But it will be nothing compared to the 12 to 15 weeks we expected.

“To lose someone for that time would have been damaging to this squad but I think we will see Hugo quicker than people expect.”

With Charles N’Zogbia having departed for Aston Villa in the summer, it looks like being a long season for Wigan but as Spurs will know from their encounters last season, there is a resilience among the club that should never be underestimated.

  1. He’s not a bad manager at all. Gets his teams playing footie, likes them to keep possession and be comfortable on the ball so Spurs should be working on what to do without the ball. Lots of high pressing like at Liverpool would be ideal. coys!
