Today’s announcement at Southwark Crown Court means that Spurs manager Harry Redknapp is free to resume full duties at White Hart Lane. We are therefore unlikely to see a repeat of Monday’s game at Liverpool where Harry was absent due to transport problems and it’s likely that all the players will be happy to see his familiar face in the dugout.

Scott Parker and Michael Dawson have been leading the chorus of squad members who have missed the manager’s presence on a day to day basis at the club.

“Harry gives that extra bit of energy. We’ve missed him the past couple of weeks,” Parker said after the Liverpool match.

“We’ll be absolutely delighted when he comes back.”

Meanwhile, Michael Dawson added.

‘To be honest, it’s been a bit odd without him being there at training. He’s the manager and normally every day when you come in he’s there and you work on things.

‘The lads have prepared like we always do but when the manager isn’t there you’re going to miss him, no doubt about that.’

Rather predictably, some areas of the press have already started turning their attentions away from court and towards the England manager’s position. For now however, Harry is back and our quest for third spot or better is firmly back on track.
