Moving forward in a positive fashion today and the news surrounds our on loan striker Emmanuel Adebayor and reports that he is looking to engineer a deal that will keep him at White Hart Lane. Ade has been our most prolific striker and while there were talks of another loan deal for next season, many thought that the player’s future might depend on whether we were playing Champions League football in 2012-13.

Speaking via his Twitter account today however, Adebayor had this to say,

“Loved my spell at Tottenham. We are working hard with the chairman to make it permanent. Will keep you informed!!”

Short and to the point – as Twitter updates generally are – but for those who are big fans of the big striker, this could herald the best news possible after a gloomy weekend.

  1. Will be nice to have around unless he has his old second season syndrome. Does seem to have matured at Spurs though. So we potentially have two strikers other than youth players for certain…bring in Damiao, Danny Boy. Or Seydou Doumbia if we can afford him. Or Luuk de Jong? Just need a bit of senior level depth in that position so we can properly rotate…well, have the option to anyway.

  2. If maybe we can bring in Remy, Adebayor with either Higuain in a Modric swap or Giroud from Montpieller or Falcao from Athletico Madrid who need money or damiao then effectively we would have defoe, Adebayor, Remy(Who can also play on the wings) and 1 of Damiao, Higuain or Giroud despite champs league being a problem these strikers would have enough (with rotation) to get us back to where we belong!! COYS!!
