With five days to go before another vital game in the 2012-13 campaign, there is genuine concern that Spurs’ England trio of Kyle Walker, Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe will be unavailable for Saturday’s North London Derby.
Kyle and Aaron withdrew from England’s squad to play Sweden tomorrow while Jermain couldn’t replace Wayne Rooney because of his injury. Usually, these things happen purely as a precaution but the concerns for Saturday seem legitimate.
Walker came off early in the match with Manchester City on Sunday.
“It was an injury situation as he felt his hamstring was tight,” Andre Villas-Boas said after the match.
“We didn’t want to risk losing him for three or four weeks.
“We held on for a couple of minutes when he gave us the sign but we took him off.”
All three players are struggling with hamstring problems although the club will doubtless offer more concrete news as the game draws closer.
If Defoe misses the match, Adebayor’s inclusion is an obvious one but the absence of Walker and Lennon could cause a bigger selection headache. Who would be your choice to come in?

I hoped that AVB would stick with Lloris in lge after starting him in Villa game and essentially swap the roles that he n Brad are doing,. Looks as tho hes more likely to stick with big bad brad, tho this is the leat of our worries,. Pretty light at the back and woefully short in midfield. What other choice does AVB have in CM? – Anyway, keep the faith! –
We are a LOT weaker than last year, as its easy to forget the quality of suqad that Redcrap had:(The majority of which was built forhim by camolli/jol aswell!!)..
Rafa, Modders, Parker, Kaboul, Ekotto, Bassing, Giovanni Dos Santos, Niko the Crank, Super (ish) Pav, as well as at the time a fit David Bentley,. Apart from the obvious 2 golden boys and his family member parker, the others barely got a look-in or couldnt get a break under HR who couldnt spell rotation!! – AVB would be smashin it if we still had this squad, and if he wasn’t, at least he could be judged fairly!!! – As I said,.. Remember how crap the 90’s were and keep the faith!!! COYS

Dembele is gonna play Saturday!! I can feel it, but our lack of depth on the wings could kill us
cannot believe that people are still putting forward dempsey and siggy in the same team.
both have shown that they cannot play together, and both have been terrible. so it will be like playing with 9 men, away at arsenal, and we will get absolutely smashed out of sight with that team
Team for Saturday (if Dembele is fit and the other three are out). Carroll to play the Modric type role and Dembele the VDV role. It’s time to give Carroll a chance, the boy can pass and carry the ball forward. Huddlestone isn’t doing it for me!
