Spurs look terrific value at 2.1 with William Hill to win their away game against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.

The home side come into the game on the back of an 8-0 thrashing by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and have won just two games at home this season – against Swansea and Reading.

By stark contrast, Spurs have lost just one of their last 8 games in all competitions (W5, D2) and have a decent record in this fixture.

Andre Villas-Boas’ side have not lost in the last four league meetings at Villa Park (W2, D2).

Both victories in that period have been by a 2-1 margin, and a repeat is priced up at 9 with Betfred and Coral.

Jermaine Defoe tops the goalscoring charts in the league for Spurs this season with an impressive tally 9 from 18 games, and looks a worthy favourite in the first goalscorer market at 6 with Betfred, Coral and William Hill.

Aaron Lennon, who scored the second when Spurs beat Villa 2-0 at White Hart Lane back in October, looks a lively outsider in the same market at 21 with Ladbrokes and well worth a saver.

Over 2.5 goals also makes plenty of appeal from a punting perspective at 1.8 with Betfred and William Hill.

Another interesting stat is that in the last 8 league games between the two sides at Villa Park both sides have managed to find the back of the net.

That makes the 1.67 on offer with Betfred and William Hill about both teams scoring look a cracking bet.

  1. ‘By stark contrast, Spurs have lost just one of their last 8 games in all competitions (W5, D2) and have a decent record in this fixture’ you do realise villa have only lost 1 in 9 games in all competitions? You lot shouldn’t be so cocky for no reason.
