As far as the fee is concerned, Spurs and Schalke 04 still seem to be some way apart in their valuation of midfielder Lewis Holtby but could the German already be on his way to the Lane? Reports suggest that the 22 year old has already undergone a medical ahead of a move and that would seem to indicate that a deal is imminent.

As for the player himself, his curt comments over concentrating on Schalke have shifted to positive noises about a future at Tottenham. Unfortunately, no direct quotes are available to back this up but according to the Evening Standard, Lewis cannot wait to link up with Andre Villas-Boas and the first team squad.

As for the fee – it’s claimed that while Spurs are willing to pay around £850,000, Schalke are holding out for nearer £1.6 million.

Elsewhere, Spurs are linked with other midfielders this month but Holtby’s medical suggests that Spurs are determined to get their man. Can they force an agreement through in the seven days before the window closes?

  1. He had a medical so we could sign him to a pre contract. The medical was not brought forward.

Levy you better fucking buy a decent striker, Defoe and Adebayor are crap and now that Willian is available you better get him in.
