At the time of writing, there’s no official word from the club but it seems likely that our third choice goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is set to join Bundesliga side Hoffenheim on loan until the end of the season.

The player’s agent claims that a deal has already been struck for the 31 year old who will help Hoffenheim in their struggle to stay in Germany’s elite league.

The deal could be ratified at any moment but elsewhere, there are claims that as many as six players will have left White Hart Lane by the end of business today. Some of those names are to be expected but there’s at least once surprise on the list.

Harry Redknapp is an obvious key to Tottenham departures and there are reports that he is looking at David Bentley, Jermaine Jenas and Andros Townsend. This could be a win-win for Spurs with Bentley and Jenas being offered permanent deals at QPR and Townsend a loan arrangement until the end of the season.

Tom Huddlestone is another likely candidate with Fulham reportedly in the frame. At this stage, Tom probably does need regular game time – if only to give him a much needed opportunity for a haircut.

Elsewhere, the one potential surprise name is Benoit Assou-Ekotto. Benny was briefly mentioned as a possible successor to Ashley Cole at Chelsea but this morning’s rumour sees the left back linked with a swap deal involving Inter’s Alvaro Pereira.

Time will tell as the hours unfold but would you be happy with this list of departures?

  1. Over the moon with all of em except Benny! – ….Unfortunately, I will be amazed if I wake up tomorrow morning (I wont be staying up to watch Sky’s bullshit milking of this farce of a window) to find all our deadwood gone! – Surely not even Redcrap is actually that stupid to take both Bentley and Jenas on permanent deals?!?!?!?!? – Here’s to hoping he is.
    COYS.

  2. Bently and Jenas are both out of contract at the end of this season and there is no way in hell they will be renewed
even though Levy hates losing money on these he will have to bite the bullet so Harry can have em both Townsend deal has fallen through which is good cos he is a good back up for the wings Gomes is no loss at all and I think its best for all concerned if Hud goes for 6.5 million but AVB wont even consider letting Benny go it would weaken us at the back and we dont need that but it could all pale in comparison if we can pull off a coup for a decent striker Negredo should be first choice or Lopez from Lyon wouls be good enough so Levy let the bad ones leave and bring us the striker all Spurs fans want to see so we can clinch top 4 COYS

  3. 100 % happy that Jenas and Bentley are out. Gomes was not given enough time to show his worth ( many may not agree with me ). His mistake was being in the right position to save but somehow lost focus thus making him look like a clown. I think he reads the game better than our other keepers. Also not too happy to see Huddlestone go. Prefer Parker to be shipped out ( most overrated player in BPL, I think ) As for the rest, well ..does not matter either way.
