After losing their first league game in twelve at the weekend, several Spurs players are calling for focus ahead of another important week in the Premiership and in the Europa League.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, whose goal helped Tottenham to take a 3-0 advantage to the San Siro, feels that the return leg gives a perfect opportunity for the club to bounce back.

“It was disappointing but all we can do now is focus on the next game at Inter and make sure we go through,” Sigurdsson said in Metro.

“We’ve been on an unbelievable run and sometimes things like this happen. We have to make sure we stay together, regroup and get ready for the next game.”

Meanwhile, Hugo Lloris, who has frequently called for focus over the last few weeks, is looking further ahead to Sunday’s home game with Fulham.

“It would be better if we were 10 points clear of Arsenal but a lot of things can happen,” Hugo said.

“We don’t know but it will be close until the end of the season so we have to keep our concentration. We still have a lot of good games coming up.

“We can learn from our mistakes and the most important thing is not to do the same errors again. We have to look forward and stay focused.”

Waiting for us on Sunday is Fulham captain Brede Hangelaand who is looking to add further upset to Spurs’ campaign.

“They are right now are one of the top teams in the country,” said Hangelaand.

“I’m sure many will see Spurs as the favourites. But that’s fine, we know what we are capable of and we like to think we can take something from the game.”

A win on Thursday would be welcome but overall progression to the next stage of the Europa League is more important. However, a return to winning ways on Sunday could be vital.
