The Joao Moutinho transfer saga rumbles on and while it’s widely tipped that Spurs will come back in for the Portuguese in the summer, it looks as though Andre Villas-Boas will have some stern competition for his former player.

The club were trying to tie up a transfer for Moutinho on the final day of the August 2012 transfer window but time literally ran out on the deal. Tottenham had been expected to make another enquiry in January but with Porto still in the Champions League, the player stayed put while the club’s only major signing was that of Lewis Holtby.

With seasons coming to a close across Europe, it had been widely rumoured that Moutinho would be the subject of a Tottenham approach again but according to Talksport, Paris Saint-Germain are now taking a close interest.

If the latest reports are true, Spurs will find it impossible to compete with the mega spending of the Ligue 1 giants and if they are still tracking a midfielder, will have to turn their attentions elsewhere.

  2. Spurs have been linked to everyone including their grandmothers by the low class media, very little if anything is to be believed. As for talks port , they are on a par with the Daily Fail. Anything they report has been dreamt up.
