The countdown begins to our final game of the season and with Champions League destiny out of our hands, all we can do is win and hope that the other result goes our way. Coming into this game, Spurs are unbeaten in seven league matches and while there have been three draws in that period, the run is still pretty impressive.

Last time out we edged past Stoke by two goals to one, despite dominating the game, and head coach Andre Villas-Boas believes that the patience required in that contest will set the team up for three points on Sunday.

“The game against Stoke was good for us, it took patience and intelligence to win that game and I think it will be the same against Sunderland,” said Andre.

“We have to do our job and independent of results elsewhere, we want the achievement of reaching 72 points. That’s important for us.”

72 Premier League points would be a record for us but will it be enough to make the top four when the final whistles sound on Sunday?
