Crystal Palace climbed into the Premiership with Monday’s play-off win and quickly became the new QPR in terms of being linked with Tottenham’s fringe players. The name in the frame today is Jake Livermore who, it may surprise some to learn, actually made 21 first team appearances last season.

Jake also made his full England debut at the start of the campaign but with the majority of those games coming from the bench, it wasn’t the breakthrough season that he would have hoped for. In January it was rumoured that Harry Redknapp would be looking for a reunion at Loftus Road but a loan deal failed to materialise and the player now faces an uncertain future.

Palace have now been linked but is it a case of joining up the numbers and making an obvious story? Jake will have seen team mates Andros Townsend and Danny Rose get greater game time away from the club and will be eager for an extended run in the Premiership so it may make sense from the player’s point of view.

But what about the club – could Jake Livermore still have a future at Spurs?
