The media won’t give up on speculation linking West Brom’s Jonas Olsson with a summer transfer to White Hart Lane and the rumour has intensified with suggestions that Benoit Assou-Ekotto is considering a move to Fenerbahce ahead of the new campaign.

Olsson is a versatile defender who is comfortable both at left back or in the centre half position but it’s likely that if he were brought to the club, he would be first choice on the left side – if Benny were to leave in the same transfer window.

The West Brom player is 30 now and has been at the Hawthorns since 2008 and reports are picking up on comments made by Olsson over playing in London.

“I love the mix of football and London and the feeling when you’re down there. That’s the ambition in the future,” he is quoted as saying.

In fact, according to Wikipedia at 3pm on Monday afternoon the defender was already a Tottenham Hotspur player! That may still happen for a fee quoted in the region of around £4m but while Olsson has the experience, is there enough quality there to replace BAE and make the left back slot his own?

  1. You have messed up big here

The player you mean is Martin Olsson, thats who we have been linked with, he plays for Blackburn and is a natural left back.

Jonas Olsson is a center back and always has been, we were linked with him during the Harry days but not any more

  2. What a piss poor piece of writing from someone who clearly hasn’t got a clue what his on about! Do some research before hand next time!! And you can have Olsson he has been crap since Christmas!
