As we all know by now, Spurs begin their 2013-14 Premiership campaign with a visit to Selhurst Park where they take on newly promoted Crystal Palace who came through the Championship play offs under Ian Holloway. The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday August 17th although this, and many of our opening games are subject to change because of TV scheduling and Europa League involvement.

Looking at the complete list of fixtures and two of the earlier contests jump off the page with big warning signals. Our third game of the season is at Arsenal while Chelsea travel to the Lane at the end of September and while four points from a possible six against Manchester United suggests we should fear no-one, both of those fixtures ended in heavy defeats last time out.

Overall the list has been kind to us early doors and after the Palace trip, four of our first five home games are against Swansea, Norwich, West Ham and Cardiff. A potentially nasty period looms in November where we play back to back fixtures against both Manchester clubs and while you feel that we must pay for all this in the run in, our last six matches are all winnable and come against Sunderland, West Brom, Fulham, Stoke and West Ham before the final match is at home for the fourth season running – this time against Aston Villa.

All dates are subject to amendment but for those missing the action on the pitch, there isn’t too much longer to wait.
