We still have to wait over seven weeks until the start of the new Premiership Campaign but pre-season is certainly taking shape and another piece of the jigsaw fell into place yesterday when the club announced an away friendly to AS Monaco.

The game takes place on Saturday August 3rd – 5.30 kick off UK time – and it could bring Spurs into battle with several of our former transfer targets – Joao Moutinho included.

The match is one of four big contests that are currently scheduled and the full list reads as follows.

Wednesday, July 24: Barclays Asia Trophy v Sunderland – in Hong Kong – 11am kick off

Saturday, July 27: Barclays Asia Trophy Final or 3rd place match  kick off to be confirmed

Saturday, August 3: AS Monaco (away) – 5.30 pm kick off

Saturday, August 10: RCD Espanyol (home) – 5:30 p.m kick off

There are unlikely to be any additions for the first team although the fringe players may get a run out elsewhere so you only have four weeks to wait until the squad makes its first ‘competitive’ appearance of the new campaign. Question is, will there be any new faces on show?
