Tottenham have been linked with a summer approach for 19 year old Gerard Deulofeu – a Spanish under 20 international who is highly thought of back in his home country despite little in the way of a breakthrough at domestic level.

Deulofeu is on the books at Barcelona but while he remains a permanent fixture in Barca’s B side, he has made just six senior appearances in the first team so far. 2013-13 did see an improvement in that tally however and the player was called upon on four separate occasions.

A versatile player, Deulofeu seems comfortable either on the wing or as a centre forward and he’s certainly impressed at Under 21 level for Spain, having recorded three goals in five matches.

With the arrival of Neymar at the Nou Camp, Deulofeu’s chances of breaking into the first team look to be even more restricted and a number of clubs are said to be hovering and waiting for developments. It’s said that a loan deal is more likely at this stage but that would leave a club like Spurs having to find game time for a player who doesn’t seem quite ready for a sustained spell at the highest level.

  1. I have seen videos of this player and he oozes class, his speed and goals are the same as bale.If we got him on loan, him and bale would ravage any defence in premier league and top four would be a cert.It would only be a season long loan but to get us in top four its worth the risk.No change of buying this player, barca only loaning for experience after signing naymar his 1st team chances limited.Watch video on media news on the tottenham site and image him and bale together.

  2. This guy will be the best player in the world. He will be better than Messi. Spurs need to get him because he would make a massive difference to the team.

Spurs would become a joy to watch, like they used to be in the past.

Spurs now have too many mediocre players and are in desperate need of creativity. Pritchard and Deulofeu offer the missing creativity, flair and entertainment that has been lacking since players like Berbatov, Ginola, Hoddle, Hazard, Waddle, Gascoigne, etc.

  3. Sorry boys but the player we want is Bernard what a player when he gets the the ball the stadium lights up
He’s the next Messi, he’s got pace he’s got fast feet ( two footed) he goes past people with ease
Have a look at him on YT I think you’ll change your minds about who you want, and we can get him on a long term deal no loan crap where we have to give him back
