Yesterday we looked at the possibility of FC Twente winger Nacer Chadli joining the club after rumours that Tottenham had tabled a £7m bid for the player’s services. Chadli looked a good prospect at 23 – a player capable of featuring on either flank – and he has an excellent goals and assists to games ratio with his current club.
Today, the Belgian international’s agent confirmed that Chadli would welcome a move to White Hart Lane.
‘It has been known for a while that Tottenham are interested in Nacer,’ said Daniel Evrard.
‘We would welcome this move, but I don’t think the two teams are in talks yet.
‘We’re still waiting for a contract offer.’
The comments contradict some of yesterday’s reports which suggested that the deal was moving close to completion and that a bid was already in. It now seems as if we are some way short of getting Nacer Chadli’s signature but he is certainly one of the better players to be linked with the club this summer and this could be one deal that is worth pursuing.
