Spurs get ready to travel to Georgia for tomorrow’s away leg against Dinamo Tbilisi for the right to play in the group stages of this season’s Europa League. If, unlike me, you’re not ancient enough to remember the 1973-74 season then you’ll have probably read that the two clubs met during the old UEFA Cup in a year which ultimately ended with final defeat at the hands of Feyenoord.
Spurs drew 1-1 in Georgia before a comfortable 5-1 win in the return – notable because all five of our goals came from headers.
Fortunately, and with great thanks to YouTube, the home leg of that tie is here – or at least four of the five goals are.
Some great memories and a repeat in the home tie next week would be most welcome.
