There’s no real team news from the club as yet but there haven’t been any reports of fresh injuries ahead of tonight’s second leg tie against Dinamo Tbilisi at the Lane. However, head coach Andre Villas-Boas has said he will try out some of the fringe players, but there will be no complacency, despite the 5-0 lead ahead of the contest.

“We want to give a chance to a couple of them and include them in the squad,” AVB said.

“I think we can hopefully throw them into the game if it goes our way, but the most important thing is to ensure that we are there for the group stage.”

With the North London Derby coming up, the need for rest is obvious but will we go strong from the start and look to make chances once the tie is definitely in the bag? Who, of the fringe players is Andre considering – Tom Carroll, Harry Kane or maybe Shaq Coulthirst?

It’s a bit of a punt as it has been since the first game of the season but here’s how we think we might line up from the first whistle, with the likes of Carroll and Kane to be introduced from half time onwards – what’s your view?

  4. We need to be mindful of the big game at the weekend, so my team would have more changes in there to give the likely starters on Sunday a good rest.My team shapes up like this;

    Then we have some first choice subs on the bench in case things look wobbly!!

  5. Can’t see him risking Dembele tonight. He’s too injury prone and we can’t risk him for Sunday

  6. I think that, being up 5-0 the starters will be squad players, and the bench will be some big guns in case we ship 3 goals.

    Holtby is still recovering from injury and could start, but will most likely be on the bench to spell Andros.

  9. Assuming BAE is not fit – he hasn´t been mentioned by anyone so far – and Lennon is – I would pick everyone who will NOT start on Sunday so –

    If Kaboul and Sandro can prove they are fully match fit after 45 minutes replace them with whoever we want to keep them fresh for Le Arse as well.

    Having said that its a pointless exercise – no matter who we put out we will win.

I wouldnt play anyone who has a chance of featuring on Sunday, this game some may see as a chance for the team to get a further game of gelling together but this side are a joke and they are a bit dirty and I cant see how we can gain anything from it…..Toure and Podolski were injured during the midweek games and we dont need it.
