Spurs midfielder Tom Carroll left for QPR on a season long loan earlier this week but before the player can make an appearance for the Loftus Road outfit, he will hopefully be featuring for England’s Under 21 side as they face Modova at Reading’s ground tonight.

Tom has enjoyed a positive start to his career at this level, scoring last time out against Scotland and he hopes to continue that good form this evening.

“It’s been a really good week working under the new gaffer and Steve Holland,” Carroll said.

“Training’s been enjoyable and the lads are loving it at the minute.

“It’s a good group of lads and we all get on well, so we’re just looking forward to the two games now.”

England move from Reading to Finland for the second part of their double header and from there it will be destination Loftus Road as Tom prepares to help Rangers in their promotion push.

“It’s been a busy week for me personally, but I’m delighted to have signed on loan for QPR and can’t wait to get started and I’m looking forward to pushing for promotion,” he added.

“It will be really good to link up again with the manager. He gave me my debut with Spurs a few years ago so I’m looking forward to working with him again.”

In other interviews, Tom has underlined that he wants to return to Spurs in 2014-15 and battle for his place and continued impressive displays at Under 21 level are a good way of reminding AVB of his potential.
