Spurs have confirmed their starting XI for tonight’s Europa League cup tie with Tromso and there are few surprises across the park. It was felt that Brad Friedel would start in goal but the American stays on the bench while there is a first start in a Spurs shirt for 21 year old Argentine international Erik Lamela.

The full line up reads

Lloris, Naughton, Dawson, Kaboul, Rose, Dembele, Sandro, Lamela, Holtby, Sigurdsson, Defoe.

Meanwhile, there’s plenty of experience on the bench should things go wrong or if AVB wants to rotate if the result looks comfortable. Roberto Soldado, Christian Eriksen and Paulinho all wait in the wings while Andros Townsend may well be unleashed later in the game.

The subs bench is

Friedel, Vertonghen, Eriksen, Paulinho, Townsend, Kane, Soldado.

Less than an hour to go until kick off – what’s your prediction?

  1. Easy win, pity with the injuries though. Was excited to see something from Lamela against a weak opponent, but he was really average or below. Didn’t go on the outside more then 2 times the entire game, and the middle was so packed there was no room to do anything but a short pass backwards. Where is the pace, accelleration and dribbling ability we know he has? Lack of confidence and not able to speak english yet might be the problem. Hopefully he will get his game on quickly.
