Earlier today we had posted a piece asking the question as to which of Tottenham’s youngsters would be poised to make a breakthrough into the first team. As soon as we published, stories began to emerge of a potential loan deal for Harry Kane but as Andre Villas-Boas reveals, the club are looking at all options for the 20 year old.

Some of the reports suggest a loan is imminent but when you consider AVB’s remarks, it’s clear that he doesn’t want anyone to waste the striker’s time – as has happened in the past.

“We can’t have a loan situation that does not work for him, like the ones that we have had before,” Andre said.

“That’s why we have been very cautious with his next step, and we have not been in a rush in that situation.

“Why haven’t the loans worked before? Because he didn’t play.”

AVB is still weighing up options and hasn’t ruled out the possibility of Harry staying at the Lane and fighting for a slot.

“At the moment what I’ve been speaking to Harry about is that we are studying the possibility of him going out on loan as well – but we are happy for him to try to compete for his place, and so is he,” Villas-added.

“We have lots of options up front and he understands that, but he is happy to continue to push for his place. He has been given that opportunity because he has been excellent in training, so we believe a lot in his future.”

His most recent loan stints at Norwich and Leicester have caused Andre and the player to take their time over their next move. What do you think that move should be?
