The injury to Hugo Lloris has caused plenty of controversy this week as the club allowed the Frenchman to return to the field following his collision with Romelu Lukaku. The fallout from that decision has been well documented but it could lead to Hugo being left on the bench for tomorrow’s Europa League Cup tie with FC Sheriff.

Last season, Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas chose to field his second choice keeper for the Europa Ties but the boss has changed that routine with Lloris featuring in most of our games so far. However, with progress to the knock out phase virtually secure, it surely makes sense to start with Brad Friedel who was the hero of our penalty shoot out with Hull City last week.

Spurs have an important home clash with Newcastle United this Sunday ahead of another international break and whatever your opinion of the club’s and Hugo’s actions, 90 minutes on the bench or in the stands must be the best option this Thursday?
