Last week Spurs were linked with a January move for Nottingham Forest keeper Karl Darlow amidst claims reserve stopper Brad Friedel would be retiring as a player at the end of the current season. That rumour has gone quiet for now but it’s claimed that the club are also interested in Forest’s England Under 20 defender Jamaal Lascelles.

The stories go on to suggest that Lascelles would be available for an initial fee of £3m but that if Tottenham were successful in their approach, they could loan the 20 year old back to the East Midlands club for the remainder of the campaign.

This wouldn’t be the first double raid on Forest – Andy Reid and Michael Dawson made the same move in 2005 with very different results – and with David Pleat retaining a foot in both camps, it’s thought that Spurs could be in pole position for either Lascelles or Darlow, or possibly both.

  1. Times have changed since the days of the Dawson & Reid deal. Forest can afford to keep our best players nowadays!
Both these players will be going no where in January or even the season after that. Both are on long enough contracts (Lascelles has 2.5 years & Darlow 3.5 years remaining) & both will probably have their contracts improved & lengthened.
They’ll both be playing for Forest in The Premier League either next season or the season after that!
Our owner has stated as much!
Our owner doesn’t need to sell & we’ll build a team around these & the other top young players lie Lansbury & Paterson.
Plus, if they were going to go anywhere then they’d go to a big club like Arsenal, Man Utd or Liverpool and for no where near the small sums of @£3m that have been mentioned in some articles!
Forest turned down an £5m Arsenal bid back in 2012 when he hadn’t even made a 1st team appearance, so why would Forest accept @ £3m now?
They’ll see you when we’re back where we belong & beating you in The Premier League.
I wish you luck & hope you steal a top 4 finish at the expense of Chelsea or Man Utd.

  2. if Tottenham think £3m is even remotely funny they need their heads checking. this kid is the best young centre back in England and maybe Europe, £15m and they might consider it. absoluteley disgraceful from spurs.

    • You are assuming that Spurs have made a £3m bid. Where’s your proof? It’s ONLY a rumour and probably not true. The media make these stories up all the time. Most are untrue.

    • Lol. Levy will sort him out. Hows that then? There not for sale. We’ve got one of the richest families in world owning forest. We don’t need to sale anyone pal. Anyway, if we were going sell, it would be to a top London club like Arsenal or Chelsea. Not a third rate club like Spurs. Well, see you next season in the premiership. YOU REDS

  3. 15 mil?
    best young CB in europe?
untried at the top level, no ones going to pay that.
you really got to get those forest red tinted glasses off.
not even sure if forest don’t make prem next season or any time soon.
they’ll sell if one of the prem sides comes-a-callin & a lot less than 15,000,000
