Tottenham’s need for a left back may have become more obvious over the course of the last two games and that has led to speculation of a move for AC Milan’s Kevin Constant. Apart from being a dream for punning commentators, Constant can also bring the flexibility of playing left midfield or on the left side of defence.

Constant is 26, was born in France but switched allegiance to the Guinea National side for whom he has 18 full caps. He’s far from a regular starter at Milan with just 25 league appearances since the start of the 2012-13 campaign and that’s just one reason why this looks to be a non-starter.

It’s said that just £3m will take Constant away from the San Siro and while his versatility will be a bonus, he has clearly underwhelmed his current club and could well do the same at White Hart Lane.
