Most of us have been passing judgement on Danny Rose this season and while the young defender has struggled to make an impact in his first full season, it’s easy to forget sometimes that we have another left back at the club.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto is coming to the end of a season long loan at Queens Park Rangers and insists that he still has unfinished business at Spurs.
“As many people know, Tottenham are a good club and if I can finish my contract there, cool,” Benny said.
“If people don’t want me there, then I will have to find another club. But my first target is to stay at Tottenham.”
“I prefer to play in the Premier League,” he added. “The ball in the Premier League is more on the floor.”
BAE is 30 now but would you have him back in the squad ahead of Danny Rose or does the club need a completely new left back to replace both of them?
Benny is not a winner or a steely eyed warrior…..he’s more a hippy/rasta/free spirit.
On his day he is one of the best left backs in the country but not always up for it.
We could have done with him this year, he is a better LB than Rose.
If the club do not want him then he must be sold this summer or he will go on a free next summer.
Rose has more of a future than the very very overrated Benny. Sell him to anyone and invest in a proper, hungry and athletic defender.

there are some very short memories here, bae was loaned to the championship for a reason – decent on the ball but cant defend to save his life, awful awful defender, we need to buy proper defenders and get rid of naughton bae and dawson, id give rose another season still young with potential.
Please get some sense all of you Benny is a very good player made loads of goals and chances for Bale Rose is a very ordinary player no potential as a EPL player maybe not good enough for Championship get whatever you can for him and useless Naughton we are playing currently with the 2 worst full backs in the EPL how we win playing with 9 men each week God only knows bring back Benny

Ekotto is far better than rose and should of been recalled!!! He can at least dribble the ball forward n cross a ball!! All rose is run the ball out of play???? Did it last week against southampton?? Or look good going forward and constantly wasting the ball on s**t passes to no one??? Get rid of him, as ive said for weeks he needs nipping in the bud and throwing on the compost heap to rot!!!! Dead head him!!! Ekotto is good back up to a new left back that is desperatly needed.. plus he keeps adebayor happy…

Sell him and put our effort into signing a quality left back .I reckon Ade might leave ,if so replace him with Lukaku or Remy or someone else with pace and power.
