Algeria have won plenty of friends with their attacking style of play at this summer’s World Cup and they’ll secure a few more if they see off Germany in tonight’s round of 16 tie. Our own Nabil Bentaleb has started all three games so far and is looking for his side to be at their best when they face the Germans.

“A lot of people think Germany are one of the favourites to possibly win the World Cup,” Bentaleb said on Tottenham’s official website.

“The level of this tournament is very high – you can see that by the fact that even some of the past winners and other fancied teams didn’t get through the group stage.

“We will have to give everything and make sure we have no regrets.”

Typically, Nabil has gone about his game and has hardly been noticed while the star performer has been Sporting Lisbon’s Islam Slimani. The attacker has two in three so far and is vital if Algeria are to test the Germans.

The Algerians are rank outsiders at around 10/1 for tonight’s tie but can Bentaleb and the rest of the side possibly hope to pull off a shock?
