Team news, as revealed by head coach Mauricio Pochettino shows two fresh doubts ahead of Sunday’s televised game with Aston Villa. Both Aaron Lennon and Etienne Capoue picked up niggles in the week but while Lennon was unlikely to be involved, Capoue has been one of the manager’s first picks in recent weeks.

“At the moment they are both doubts and we’ll see how they recover in the next few days,” Pochettino said.

If Etienne doesn’t make it, Mousa Dembele or Benji Stambouli could come in while the biggest question is likely to come up front. Having been criticised for not playing Harry Kane against Newcastle, will the coach bend and start the England under 21 man?

Here’s how we think it might look but what’s your view?

  1. That’s not a good team – it will get slaughtered in midfield and down the right flank.

Stick with the team that started against Brighton in league cup.

If you want wholesale changes all the time you want to disrupt Tottenham – are you a site of Gooners?

  2. I think villa mainly play 433 aswell (I could be wrong) if so I don’t think we will get slaughtered in midfield and for the 1st time ever is go with that team choose

  3. ____________Lloris
Naughton- Fazio – Vertonghen – Rose
    ______Stambouli – Dembele
    ____Eriksen – Soldado – Lamela
    _____________Kane

Both wing backs to supply the width.

  4. Syrians team above has to be the choice with perhaps Fazio instead of Kaboul, although both prone to mistakes. We need goals and Kane is the man but Saldado, although not scoring, is making everyone around him look better . . . the pass to Lamela on Wednesday? They need to be on the pitch together.

  5. Life long Spurs fan for almost 40 years, and cant believe how shit we are playing against villa!

Not one of these players should take there mega bucks pay this week, as not one of them deserves to wear the shirt or be paid.

If there is any justice they should donate all the money they have taken falsely to charity!!!!!

Beginning to question the manager as well and whilst I don’t want to consider the thought of a replacement again, not sure how long we can go on like this, we’ve just equalized but even if we scape a draw or even win the game which is doubtful we are no where near a top four team….. the defense , midfield and attack are all crap, to think we are “Struggling” against villa! what chance do we have against a good team???

I really am loosing the faith!
