A third 2-1 away victory in our last four league matches took the club to seventh in the Premiership and afterwards, head coach Mauricio Pochettino hailed the character of his players.

“I’m very happy, congratulations to my players because they did very well this afternoon,” Poch said.

“We showed character and it’s a very good win. We work very hard during the week and every day on the training ground and now we’re starting to see the results.

“I think it’s a very good victory. We have a lot of young talent on the field and this is important for Tottenham Hotspur.

“We showed a very young squad and starting XI but it’s important. We showed character, Swansea are a very good team with very good players and it wasn’t easy.”

It wasn’t pretty at times but the ability to seal these late victories just about keeps us in touch with the Champions League places. The game also gave Spurs the chance to get a close look at Wilfried Bony – the type of striker that will surely be scouted in the lead up to the new transfer window.
