With Harry Kane set to be rested for tonight’s FA Cup replay with Burnley, the prospect of Emmanuel Adebayor in a Spurs shirt once again has become a very real one. I was tempted to call it an ‘unlikely’ prospect but we’ve previously seen Ade come back from what seemed to be the end of the line.
“Could Ade play against Burnley? Maybe yes, he is not injured. Maybe I will make changes. We need to analyse who played against Crystal Palace and then see who has a chance,” revealed Head Coach Mauricio Pochettino.
It’s also been confirmed that Erik Lamela and Ryan Mason remained on the injured list while Nabil Bentaleb starts his international duty with Algeria. The starting XI will therefore be a fascinating one with Adebayor a talking point – can he pull things back again or are you hoping that a run out tonight is merely to put him back into the shop window?
I’d like to see a bloke that resembles a world-renowned, ‘professional superstar’ turn up and do what he gets paid ( an obscene amount) to actually do.
Shop window indeed.
