After speculation that Ryan Mason would be selected for Roy Hodgson’s latest England squad the Spurs midfielder finally received a call-up as a replacement for the injured Adam Lallana.
Though Mason has received less headlines that Harry Kane this season, his rise has arguably been just as surprising. Kane was at least involved in the first-team squad last season, while Mason was playing in League One on loan at Swindon. Here’s how Twitter reacted to the news.
