The Telegraph have today claimed that Spurs are on the verge of signing the Burnley right-back Kieran Trippier.

With Burnley relegated, the highly-rated Trippier looks set to stay in the Premier League, with a number of clubs ready to pay the £3.5m that will activate his release clause.

The 24-year old has a reputation as an effective attacking full-back and should put pressure on Kyle Walker if Tottenham can bring the player to White Hart Lane. Trippier provided 17 assists in Burnley’s promotion season in 2013/14 – an amazing statistic for a defender. Watch them in the video below.
