Watford have announced the signing of Etienne Capoue for a club record fee.
The French international made just 36 appearances in two seasons at Spurs having been signed for £9.3m in 2011. He’s the latest fringe player to be sold this summer by the club as Mauricio Pochettino tries to rebuild the squad. Here’s how Tottenham fans reacted on Twitter to the news.

Personally think Capoue's a good signing for Watford got a feeling he's going to prove a few people wrong if he gets his head together.

Baldini has a lot to answer for. His player selection with the ‘Bale’ money should in effect have ruined his career. What team anywhere in the world could trust Baldini’s judgement after this fiasco? This man should not be in charge of anything football. He has his connections and may still be useful in some way, but under no circumstance should he be allowed to select any player for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. He has no clue as to who Tottenham Hotspur and the Spurs driving character is all about. Capoue and the others need to move on.
